I headed to the State launch on the Saugy despite two hours of light snow flurries in Oxford. The forcast was for cloudy skies and light and variable winds. I had engine trouble prior to launching and the wind was barking. Got the engine going and despite the cold, growling wind, I reluctantly headed out. I had read reports that people were catching albies inside the river so I was hopeful. I was out between 10:30am and noon.

I marked a few fish near the RR bridge but nothing was on top. I didn't see any bait or birds. The sound was snotty with moderate swells, I would have went out but the motor concerned me. If I wasn't alone I would have ventured out of the river but I decided against it. I took a few casts back near the bridge but came up empty. I have one more trip next Saturday (brother in law coming in) and the fat lady will sing. The fall has been windy and wet and I haven't been out much. I hope everyone has better luck.
