Saturdays trip was a 1 man charter with Scott. With the NE blow all week I didn’t make it out to scout the spots. So with a live well full of bunkers and about 30 more in the cooler for back up we hit the water. We were lucky enough to find action at our first spot. At first we hit a couple of blues then were started to hit some bass. The blues were good size from 7 to 12 pounds but the bass were bigger. Each drift provided some sort of action. We ended up with 8 bass from 34-42 inches. Most of them had sea lice on them. We boated about 8 blues and had many bluefish bite offs.

We also had a very big bonus for the morning. Scott caught a 12 pound weakfish on a live lined bunker. We both thought it was a very large bass the way in fought. When It came up on the side of the boat I almost didn’t believe what I was seeing.

At the turn of the tide the bite shut off. we waited it out but the incoming didn’t produce any fish. so we headed in. It was another great day on the water!!!!

Sundays Trip

Just when you think you know where the fish are they move. Today was the first time this season I could not find the Bass.

I had a 1 man trip and 50 bunker. We left the dock at 4:30 and were fishing under the best conditions possible by 4:45. The hot spot from yesterday wasn’t productive at all.

I started heading east hitting spot after spot and keeping in contact with 3 other boats the whole time and the reports were the same. No Fish. Finally with an hour left in the charter I run to the New haven walls and finally put a keeper in the boat.

A couple hours later I run out for blackfish with my wife Christi and our friend Cathy. I figured It was a waste of time due to the morning I had but, The girls limited out in an hour. The Fish were from 4-9 lbs.

Now its time to start scouting for the stripers again.

Congrats on the weakfish Afro!  I wish we could get more of those guys around here.  Looks like you have put people on fish yet again.
