Memorial Weekend on the Kingfisher

Saturday sarted off the weekend with our regular group (Robert, NoMas, and the crew). The trip started out slow with the slack tide but turned around quickly with the start of the outgoing tide. A bunch of short stripers were brought aboard with 3 keepers in the mix. Sunday's group (bunch of our finest army guys) scored 6 keeper bass to 36 inches, a mess of shorts, and some blues mixed in. Monday, continued the action with 8 keepers, another mess of shorts and a few more blues mixed in. In short, the stripers are here in big numbers and should only get better for the month of June with bigger fish moving in daily. We still have a couple open dates for June if you want to get in on the action. Give us a call at 860-573-3614.

I was out both Saturday and Sunday as well.  Saturday seemed like a fairly slow day at the race.  We did manage to pick up a nice 23" fluke around the south side of fisher island.  Sunday seemed like the more productive day with blues and stripers around valient rock and the light house with loads of birds hitting the water.  Also seemed like quite a bit of action around the millstone discharge.  I saw a guy pull in a very large bass with blues everywhere.  Bunker seem to be heavy in the millstone area as well.  Hopefuly I can get out Saturday again and get some keepers on board.  If anyone would like to hook up out there and share some info I usually keep the VHF on 88.  The name of the boat is WET-N-SALTY.  Always enjoy meeting new people.
