I am looking to spend about $150-$175  on a new rod and reel for live lining porgy.

I know I want a Tica rod ,just not sure what model.
I will probably use 30# power pro or maybe 50# on iit

I also want a good reel that will take lots of abuse ,but I do not want to break the bank buying one.

what does everyone reccomend.

This set up will replace my current reef rod which I call the "Pool Cue"  got it at a tag sale for $5 and it has caught me plenty of big stripers  2funny Rod is about 5' long and thick as my wrist at the tip ,has an old Penn level wind on it with some 40# mono  Shocked

Mike Tica's PEHA series muskie rod is what I use Wink You've heard me rave about the rod, I own 4 now. Before you decide on a rod, you may want to swing by and look at their new rod that I tested for them last year. You can compare the old and new side by side... I think you'll fall in love with the new one. It's still a 6'10" rod but the butt section is 3 1/2" longer and there is a bigger reel seat. Here is a pic of the 2 rods side by side:

The factory says the MSRP on the new rods will be $89.99. They SHOULD be available in a few more weeks. The original rods are in stock and are $69.
