Looking to buy new rod and reel
«

I'm looking to buy a new rod and reel. I don't have a boat so I'll be fishing from piers and beaches. Any suggestions as what to look for and what to buy?

I would strongly suggest getting a baitrunner real if you are baitfishing.

If you are looking for a spinning reel with a bait clicker that is reasonably priced and well made, then look at getting a Penn Captiva SS. They are great for beginners, or people who want a versatile reel without having to pay an arm and a leg.

Highlander, not sure where you are located but I have a 10' St Croix rod available, awesome surf rod, brand new with full warranty. It is on clearance for $125, it is normally a $220 rod. Let me know if you are interested

If Highlander does not want that rod, you can sell it in the CT Fishing Reports Marketplace for free.
