Title: quinebaug hatchery
Post by: bigoutdoors on March 01, 2008, 01:30:50 PM
today was first day of the hatchery.i left the house there was 4.5 inches of snow on the ground and still snowing heavy.state and town roads were a mess,i could only go 15-20 miles an hour.when i got into plainfield it was raining.it rained through out the whole first period.they stocked alot of 6-9 inch fish along with some big breeders.just about any fly would work, but black seemed to call on the breeders.this year was the best for non-stop action thoughout the whole period,.i got to tell ya,my arm is very tired, and sore.i landed 5 fish over 5 lbs,had another heavy fish but broke the hook, and countless small fish.i had the camera, but it was raining hard.and didnt want it to get wet.we will see what sunday brings
