southwest reef stripers 6 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 2
The bite on the southern ledge of south west reef had been incredible. Weve have been goign out there mornigns and nights and slaming 2 35 punders a night and probrably more if we stayed longer. Your should be about 500 yards south of the reff in the little rock piles. The fish should be on top of the mounds. These fish around there are between20 and 45 pounds. The best way of getting the bad boys is 3 way jigging eels on the out bound tide. Al so i almost forgot on of the nights i hooked up with a striper and it had to be like 50 pounds are bigger snapped my brand new 3 way swivel.i will have some photos up soon of some of the fish the attachment is not working but i willll uplood it so be posted .

Sounds like a great tip. I have been hitting the main reef with not too much to show except blues lately. Not marking much bait either.

I am going to have to try at night. Not much luck daytime. All I ever do is snag pots on every drift at that dam place.

yeah daytime here to has been terrrible not even a bluefish... well there still there at dusk and dawn. I have been told that there is tons of stripers beeing caught on top of the hens and chickens reefs on the out bound tide and off of the south side of ranes reef .. trollers off of 6 mile reef are still picking up medium size bass. There is this lobster pot off the south end of south west reef its yellow and red and it kinda marks the tip right around that pot weve been hooking up with cows there. Two days ago we talked to this guy and he got a nice 36 punder there. so there is still hope.

south west reef rolling in hot once again.. Looks like some bass decided to show back up to the southern ledge of the reef again hitting on eels. we picked up 3 keepers last night including to 20 lbs and one 39 lb striper. we would have caught liek 10 if we staayed every single drift we hooked up. Give it a try tonight or tomorrow at the high tide going out.
