Blue Crab for 2008? 6 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 1
Has anyone seen or heard of Blue Crabs yet?
I have only heard that two Blue Crabs were caught in a Lobster pot in the Guilford area.
Water in the Norwalk area just hit 69F today.
I think we've got about another four weeks until they start to show up here.

Hi,
July 4th weekend 2008 caught 25 small crabs in the 3 inch range. Have only caught 2 legal ones in the past month in the Old Saybrook area. Next month things should turn around.

Water at Norwalk is 74F! I have heard the crabs are around but I have yet to see one.
Last year they showed up on July 14th so they are a bit late this year. I have heard they are in from Old Saybrook down to New Haven and Branford area.

Caught 6, all around 7 inches in the Old Saybrook area in about 3 hours. Small snapper blues are abundant.

Here we can see the different structures in the sea, so many pictures resembles that, still i doubt how these species originate. I never seen such a site like this, i just look up the forum fishing there i am seeing some comments but here they are talking about the blue crab. I haven't seen till now but now i want to explore it and put information shortly.

The crabbing around Norwalk has been a bust this year! I have been out several times and all I found have been two dead crabs. I have not seen a single live one yet! Bummer! I do hear they are getting them in eastern coastal CT.

Last Friday Sept.19th I caught eight crabs 6-1/2" to 7-1/2"s. Big Bad Boys I call them. Yesterday Sept 22 I caught three, 5-1/2" in the Old Saybrook area, not like it was last year..
