Hi I'm new to the area and live in lower fairfield county, could someone please share some info on the best surf fishing spots?

We probably live in the worst state for surf spots, but short beach in Stratford is my favoite. You get a short window of fishing just beacuase you need to wade out to it. You need to plan your tide correctly to get the most time out there, but I had a good year last year in darkness. I hear that Penfield reef in Fairfield is very productive but there is a short window there as well, I have never been there and some guys on here know much more about that spot than I do.

Thanks for the info, someone also told me Todds point might also be a good spot. Do you know anything about this spot?

Isnt Light House Point in New Haven? Just asking because I am starting to look for places to surf cast ... just another question are the blues hitting top water plugs or just hitting chunks?

yes its actually in east haven they were hitting mackeral but i went last week and didnt even get a hit.
